Content Conversion Services

A number of commercial companies provide a wide range of conversion services (e.g., transformation from print to digital, or transformation from one digital medium to another, etc.). These services are available to curriculum materials publishers and to state and local education agencies, usually on a work-for-hire basis. In addition to the preparation, structuring, editing, and validation of digital source files, a number of these companies also indicate that they are capable of creating student-ready versions.

A preliminary list of conversion services companies that may have expertise in the creation of source files that conform to the NIMAS is provided below. Additional recommendations should be emailed to nimas@cast.org. Each of the organizations listed has been asked to complete a capabilities and contact profile in the form of a Word document. As a service to K–12 educational publishers that are in need of technical development support and to states that may wish to develop student-ready versions from NIMAS-conformant file sets, a link to each company is provided below. The NIMAS TA Center will continue to post detailed capabilities and contact documents as they become available.
